Privacy policy

Promptsource is a read-only website. It has no accounts, sign-up forms or comments, and the site's own code sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. This page describes what is recorded when you visit, and by whom.

Server logs

Like most web servers, ours records each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, whether it succeeded, the address of the page that linked to it (the referrer) and your browser's user-agent string. Because searches on this site are part of the page address, the words you search for appear in these records too.

The logs are used to keep the site running and to protect it, including automatically blocking addresses that send abusive traffic. They are kept for up to seven days and then deleted. They are not combined with other data, used to identify you or shared with anyone.

Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your approximate location and your device and browser type. Google's description of how it uses information from sites that use its services explains what Google does with this data. You can stop Analytics from collecting data about you with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies or scripts from google-analytics.com and googletagmanager.com.

Google Fonts

The site's typefaces load from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches them, Google receives your IP address and browser details. Google's privacy policy applies to that request.

Advertising

The site does not currently show advertising. If it does in future, this page will be updated before the advertising starts, to describe the cookies and data involved and the choices you have.

Copying prompts

Copying a prompt, downloading its plain-text version or using it in an AI assistant does not send anything to this site beyond the page request itself. What you type into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another assistant is handled under that service's own privacy policy.

Your choices and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data a website holds about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Server logs here are not linked to names or accounts and are deleted within seven days; for Google Analytics data, Google's tools above apply. Changes

If what the site records changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
